Quinta Vale do Armo
Quinta do Vale do Armo is located in the north of the Tejo region. This region used to be known as the Ribatejo and refers to the Tejo (Tagus in English) river that cuts diagonally from north east to south west through Portugal, eventually finishing up in the Lisbon estuary. The Tejo region is a relatively new region in terms of Portuguese wine history. The soils tend to be quite silty due to the deposits of teh Tejo that can flood. The VAle do Armo vineyard has quite a limestone profile which suits Touriga Nacional very well.
